  1. Larger Basket Area (Gross Filtration Area) – at least 25 times the cross-section inlet area, resulting in lesser pressure drop and lesser cleaning frequency.
  2. Compact design- Can be mounted on pipelines like a valve.
  3. Positive Filtration- Specially designed basket seating arrangement with spring ensures no liquid bypass
  4. Degree of Filtration – Coarse filtration down to 5 microns or less can be achieved from a wide choice of filter media.
  5. Reduced Frequency of Cleaning and maintenance– Higher Gross filtration area and multiple baskets ensure that the frequency of cleaning is low. 
  6. Inline or Offline construction available.
  7. Multiple filtration element design options available. 
  8. Available in Carbon steel, Stainless steel of various grades. Galvanization on request.

Basket Strainers feature top removal of the screen. The screen is in the form of a basket, with a lifting handle, so that all particulate captured and retained by the screen can be easily removed for disposal. They are intended for applications where large amounts of solids particulate are expected and where the clean-out will be frequent. For easily flushable solids, a modified cone bottom basket can be tilted with automatic or manual blow-down through drain port.
This will allow clean-out without removal of the screen, and without interrupting the flow process.

in size from 3/8" – 24" with Threaded, Socket Weld or Flanged End Connections. Pressure ratings are ANSI 125-600#. Standard body materials offered are Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, Cast Steel, Stainless Steel, Chrome-Moly and Bronze. Various Perforations, Mesh or Perforation Mesh combinations baskets are available to meet your process requirements. Activeline Basket Strainers can be equipped with Bolted Covers, Hinged Covers, Clamped Covers, a Davit Lifting Device or other Lifting Device to make removal of large heavy covers safe and efficient. Fabricated Basket Strainer constructed of 90 10 Cu Ni (UNS C70600),
a copper-based alloy. Corrosion resistant, ideally suited to meet
our customer’s heated raw seawater application, this relatively
difficult to source material and strainer design demanded special
welding expertise. With a new Welding Procedure in place, our
certified welders were well prepared to tackle this unique custom
basket strainer fabrication which also had to comply with NACE
requirements. This basket strainer was manufactured complete with a
hinge cover for easy maintenance and a specially constructed Monel
basket with a small hole size (200 mesh) and a large basket free
flow area of 5 times inlet pipe area to protect a pump in a
critical slop water system
