Basket Strainers feature top removal of the screen. The screen is in the form of a basket, with a lifting handle, so that all particulate captured and retained by the screen can be easily removed for disposal. They are intended for applications where large amounts of solids particulate are expected and where the clean-out will be frequent. For easily flushable solids, a modified cone bottom basket can be tilted with automatic or manual blow-down through drain port.
This will allow clean-out without removal of the screen, and without interrupting the flow process.

  1. Larger Basket Area (Gross Filtration Area) – at least 25 times the cross-section inlet area, resulting in lesser pressure drop and lesser cleaning frequency.
  2. Compact design- Can be mounted on pipelines like a valve.
  3. Positive Filtration- Specially designed basket seating arrangement with spring ensures no liquid bypass
  4. Degree of Filtration – Coarse filtration down to 5 microns or less can be achieved from a wide choice of filter media.
  5. Reduced Frequency of Cleaning and maintenance– Higher Gross filtration area and multiple baskets ensure that the frequency of cleaning is low. 
  6. Inline or Offline construction available.

The Stainless Steel Basket Strainer is designed for effective removal of suspended solids from liquid pipelines to protect downstream equipment such as pumps, valves, flow meters, and control instruments. The strainer consists of a heavy-duty stainless steel body housing a removable perforated or wire-mesh basket.

The strainer body, cover, and basket are manufactured from Stainless Steel SS 304 / SS 316, providing high resistance to corrosion, pressure, and temperature. The basket is precision-fabricated to ensure uniform filtration and high dirt-holding capacity. The cover is bolted and sealed with a suitable gasket to ensure leak-proof operation.

The strainer is suitable for continuous operation in process pipelines and can be cleaned periodically by removing the basket without disturbing the line.

Water, oil, chemicals, steam, petroleum products, and other compatible fluids in industrial process lines.

• Materials: Carbon steel, stainless steel (SS304, SS316), cast iron, bronze, , alloy steels, etc. 

• Purpose: Encloses the filter basket and directs the fluid through it.

• Made of perforated metal or wire mesh screen (SS304/SS316 common) 

• Removable for cleaning

• Can be single, double, multi-cylinder or pleated design based on application 

• Usually bolted or quick-opening clamp design for maintenance access 

• Provides sealing and access to the internal basket.

• Optional ports allow flushing out collected solids without full removal of the basket element 

• Nominal Pipe Sizes: typically from ½″ to 24″ or larger (DN15 to DN600+) depending on manufacturer and requirement 

• Micron Ratings: Commonly 25 µm up to 3000 µm or more (customizable to application)

• In some heavy industrial designs, rated up to high pressures (e.g., 325–400 bar) depending on material and design. 

• Temperature capability depends on materials and sealing

  • Stainless steel designs may handle well over +450 °C

  • Plastic (PP/UPVC) types are limited to lower temperature service (e.g., up to ~80 °C for PP)
